The mission of the International Order of the Blue Gavel is to recognize Past Commodores of the international yachting community and unite them in order to promote the highest ideals of yachting and preserve its customs and traditions through social, educational and humanitarian programs. of your business

District Achievement Award

Beginning with the official District membership numbers posted in August 2020, the Executive Committee will be awarding a District Achievement Award pin based on retention and growth. This distinctive pin will be awarded to five District executive boards in 2021. The formula chosen will give retention the most weight and growth will add to the mix in determining the recipients. Click here for the formula to be used in calculating your District’s percentages.

This will be coordinated by the Area Vice Presidents. The winning Districts’ presentations will be made at the October 2021 Change of Watch. Each Area Vice President will have a District winner. In addition, because some districts have a small number of members, this method should only be used with districts that have 25 or more members.  The Executive Committee can then decide if a small District qualifies with the recommendation of the Area Vice President.

In conclusion…Our thought is to get back to basics. The Blue Gavel is each and every one of its Blue Gavel members. Every Past Commodore has earned the right to wear his silver epaulets. The Blue Gavel is the continued recognition of his past and continuing service to the boating community.
